About the Artist

Ava is a visual artist based in Northern Virginia, focused on life drawing and figurative work. She works principally in graphite, trois crayon, pen and ink, and oil paint. Her work celebrates the human form and nature, from large-scale landscapes to portraits of insects and mushrooms she finds on her hikes. There is nothing she loves more than a well-lit ear, rainy day landscapes, the draped lines of moderately-starched fabric, or a happy little mushroom just chilling in the woods. There is nothing she hates more than drawing teeth, high noon, and scratchy pen nibs.

She has been doodling since she could hold a crayon, and has thus far given no indication of stopping. She has tried and failed valiantly to stop making art for years, but frankly cannot help herself.

Please reach out below if you have any questions! She would love to hear from you.
